Will weekly adult classes now be hosted in the Eastside Pottery studio?
No, we plan to keep a majority of weekly classes in the Redmond Art Works space to make sure EP studio space is available for use by our members.
Do I have to be a member of EP to participate in raku firings?
While EP members will receive first priority to enroll in raku workshops, these workshops will also be offered to everyone is our artist community.
How often will EP be holding Raku workshops?
We plan to offer workshops twice a month! More information will be available shortly.
What if I am a member but I want to bring a non-member friend in to use the space?
We do plan to allow a limited amount of guest passes so you can bring your friends in, however for now, we will just allow students that have an active membership and have attended an orientation to use the space while we get settled.
Can my children use the space with me?
We love seeing families create together! Eastside Pottery was created as a space for adults to create, so everyone must be at least 18 years old. If you would like to have your children work with you, you can reserve time to visit Redmond Art Works. Your hourly open studio fee can be waived for up to 16 hours if an enthusiast member, or you can use the RAW studio as much as you want if on a mainstay membership. You will just pay the fees for your child’s projects.
How many pieces can I fire per month?
We do not plan to put limits on your work! If you are a mainstay member than you are welcome to put in pieces made in studio or at home free of charge. Enthusiast members will be expected to pay kiln fees for anything made or glazed outside of the studio. Please note, the EP space was not created for full time working artists, if you are a full time artist please contact us to discuss your specific needs. , to ensure there is always room for all members working in the studio , pieces being fired should not exceed 30 pieces in a month.
Where do I store my clay and tools?
We have limited lockers for rent at $15 per month. This rental fee will be added monthly to your membership fee.
What will accessing the studio after hours look like?
While we are still working out the fine details, mainstay members will receive a pass that will let them into the front door 24 hours a day. Enthusiast members will have access to the studio during set times each week. All members will still want to reserve times on our scheduling app to ensure availability, but you will be welcome to come into the space independently anytime it is available. You will receive a rundown of the studio setup, firing schedules, and clean up procedures at membership orientation.
