Specialty Workshops

Intermediate – Advanced

At 24hr Pottery we love offering workshops that help us all grow as artists and introduce us to new ways of thinking and working with clay. The below workshops are crafted for artists with prior ceramic experience. We keep all workshops small with a max of 10 students ensuring each student attending has an opportunity for individual guidance.

Primitive Barrel & Raku Firing Workshop

Join us for a special combo firing workshop where you can experience both barrel and raku firing techniques! Bring up to four bisqued pieces of your work to prepare and fire using these primitive methods.

Barrel Firing: Using a variety of organic and chemical materials, we’ll wrap our pots in foil saggars and ignite them to create wild colors and unpredictable patterns. Each piece will emerge with unique and exciting results.

Raku Firing: Apply a selection of provided raku glazes to your bisqued pieces and watch them transform into shiny, stunning works of art.

Bring your favorite snacks and beverages, relax by the fire, and chat about all things alternative firing while the magic happens. You’ll even get to take your finished pieces home the same day!

*Class may run longer than the estimated 2.5 hours.
**Please ensure your pieces are bisque fired before the workshop.

Instructor: Lacie Warden

Our workshops are open to both members and the community, with a member discount available at checkout. We offer workshops at Seatown Pottery Green Lake & Capitol Hill,
as well as at our sister schools, Eastside Pottery in Redmond and Bellevue.
Please ensure you verify the location of your class when booking.

Upon completion of the workshop, participants may select from a variety of studio glaze colors. Our team will expertly glaze your pieces, which will be ready for collection three weeks after the class. Alternatively, members have the option to glaze their own
creations during their allocated studio hours.
